Mission 11: Bad Fairies 4/5

I meet Oreilli in his quarters.

“Tell me what happened.”

Oreilli takes in a tight breath. “I was...Genni and I were diving for things. We were getting close, kind of hugging, and I thought she...liked me.”

“You tried to kiss her.”

Oreilli nods.

“But she didn’t want to.”

“No, I guess not.”

“Why didn’t you let go of her?”

“I thought... honestly, I panicked. I like Genni, a lot. I thought, you know, how Mary Beth...”

“Why did you punch her?”

Oreilli’s voice firms up. “I didn’t mean to do that. I was frustrated, everything went all wrong. I wasn’t trying to punch her, just the water or the poolside. Is she okay?”

“Collar bone didn’t break. You’re lucky.”

“I wasn’t trying to punch her.”

Oreilli sounds sincere, but he’s a very good liar.
